Laboratories and centres 

The availability of such laboratories is a basic prerequisite for conducting a quality educational process. This applies to almost all specialties, and for technical ones these laboratories are an absolutely mandatory element. Thanks to the cooperation with leading companies in the country and abroad, the existing laboratories are constantly being modernized and new ones are being created.

Scientific Research Sector

The Scientific Research Sector (SRS) was established in 1965. The main subject of activity of the SRS is the organization, administrative and financial support of the scientific research, development and implementation activities at the university.

SRS has been delegated rights to carry out business contacts on behalf of the university with state and private organizations and companies.

SRS has full staffing and financial independence.

Within the framework of SRS, teams of highly qualified teachers, doctoral students, students and technicians carry out both fundamental scientific research and development, implementation and consulting activities on a contractual basis.

Intellectual property centre

GOALS :
Acquisition and dissemination of knowledge and skills for the protection of the intellectual property of teachers, doctoral students and students of the University of Ruse by registration of patents for invention, certificates for utility model, for industrial design, for trademark, for topology of an integrated circuit, for a new variety plant, animal breed or biological species, acquisition of protected copyright certificates, etc.

PROBLEMS:

• Training of staff from all faculties to realize the purpose and tasks of the centre for the protection of intellectual property;

• Familiarizing undergraduate and graduate students with the basics of intellectual property;

• Conducting courses for doctoral students and teachers on intellectual property protection;

• Conducting seminars on intellectual property protection;

• Advising students, doctoral students and teachers in order to protect the results of scientific research projects such as intellectual property;

• Participation in regional, national and European projects in the field of intellectual property.

The Centre for Intellectual Property works closely with the Centre for Technology Transfer.

 Technology Transfer Centre

The Technology Transfer Center (TTC) is an intermediary in the technology transfer process between the users of technologies and the providers of these technologies from University of Ruse "A. Kanchev". TTC strives to meet the technological needs of companies with innovative and scientific solutions that benefit society and at the same time provide revenue for research laboratories. In this way, an increase in industrial capacity and maintenance of regional economic development is achieved, as well as increasing the competitiveness of SMEs and encouraging the implementation of innovations by improving the innovation structure and know-how.

Centre for the promotion of the entrepreneuership

The centre for the promotion of entrepreneurship was established in 2008 with the aim of supporting the entrepreneurial activity mainly of students and also of teachers from the University of Ruse. The centre supports both start-up entrepreneurs and micro- and small companies already operating on the market, which are taking actions to change their activity.

Publishing centre

The University Publishing Centre was established in 2010 as the main constituent part of the publishing house of the University of Ruse in order to accelerate the printing and significantly improve the quality of scientific, educational and fiction literature.

Centre for information and educational technologies

The Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies was created in response to the "E-Learning" initiative of the European Commission. It mainly employs young professors, doctoral students and students.

The first development of the Centre is the software platform for e-learning, which for teachers is a means of making web-based courses easily and quickly, and for students - a virtual library (http://ecet.ecs.uni-ruse.bg/else) . Several virtual laboratories have also been created - based on program models and on the basis of real equipment.

In 2002, associates of the Centre created the site of the pilot virtual department of computing "John Atanasoff" (http://ecet.ecs.ru.acad.bg/vkk-jatanasoff/), and in 2003 - the site of the virtual faculty on information and communication technologies (http://ecet.ecs.ru.acad.bg/ict-vf).

In 2004, the Centre was entrusted with the creation of the website of the Bulgarian Virtual University (http://www.bvu-bg.eu), and in 2007 – the portal of the National Network of Virtual Libraries (http://www. bvu-bg.eu/nmvb).

All sites are on University servers and are maintained by Centre staff.

Every year, the Centre holds national seminars and international conferences on e-learning, in which teachers from almost all universities and colleges in the country, as well as scientists from many European countries, participate. For their work in implementing the NATIONAL PROGRAM FOR CREATING A VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL SPACE, the center's associates have been awarded with a number of prestigious awards - the "Ruse" award, the DAITS Plaque, certificates from the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, etc.

Transnational Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in the Social Sciences

The Transnational Interdisciplinary Studies Centre in the Area of Social Sciences (TISCASS) at the University of Ruse was established in 2009 on the basis of the established Bulgarian-Romanian-Ukrainian transnational network for research in the area of social sciences in implementation of a project under the "Scientific Research" fund at the "European Studies" department.
TISCASS arose as a result of the scientific and educational cooperation of the University of Ruse, the Academy of Economic Sciences-Bucharest, Romania and Ternopil National Pedagogical University "Volodymyr Hnatyuk", Ukraine and functions as a virtual platform for the exchange of information on scientific achievements and ideas, for scientific discussions and publication of scientific works in the fields of: European integration, international relations and foreign policy, international economic relations, legal and political sciences, international security, intercultural and applied communication, and linguistic culture.
The main goal of this international structure is the intensification of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in the field of social sciences by investigating problems using the tools of different sciences and from different perspectives with a view to generating innovative solutions and the overall development of social sciences.

The centre is open to new partners and individual members from the country and abroad.
