The Faculty of Transport was founded in 1987. It has been established as a centre for training engineers in the field of automobile and tractor machinery and transport in Bulgaria.
The Faculty and its degree programmes have been accredited by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation of Higher Schools..
Thirty-two specialised laboratories are used in the training process by the students.
The Faculty of Transport with the University of Ruse maintains relationship with similar Departments and Faculties from universities in Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Russia,  Poland and Romania.
