The Department of Repair, Reliability, Mechanisms, Machines, Logistics and Chemical Technologies (RRMMLCT) was established on 09th October, 2012, when the Academic Council of Ruse University decided to transform the Department of Repair, Reliability and Chemical Technologies and the Department of Theory of Mechanisms and machines and Lifting and Transport Equipment and Technologies in a department with the new name, which is a unit in the Faculty of Agriculture and Industry and is responsible for conducting training in the academic disciplines of the previous departments."
The united department currently includes four departments, which are one of the first departments with the same name, which were established in the current Faculty of Agriculture and Industry:
- Chemistry and Chemical Technologies;
- Theory and Mechanisms and Machines
- Lifting and Transport Equipment of Technologies.
The history of the above directions speaks of serious traditions of the former departments, where over the years scientific personnel and professors were built, thousands of students were trained, working today as engineers in all corners of Bulgaria.
In 1954, a department was created under the name "Repair and operation of MTAP". In the 1970s, the department was divided into two "MTAP Repair" and "MTAP Operation", and in 1999 it was renamed "Repair and Reliability". The heads of the "Repair and Reliability" department were Associate Professor Emil Dankov, PhD, Professor Gancho Spiridonov, Associate Professor Dr. Stoyko Stoykov, Associate Professor Dr. William Manev and Associate Professor Ivan Mitev.
The Department of "Chemistry and Chemical Technologies" was established in 1967. The heads of the department were Assoc. Dr. Nedelcho Drenchev, Assoc. Dr. Maria Veleva and Assoc. Dr. Petar Kopchev.
Since 2002, the two departments "Repair and Reliability" and "Chemistry and Chemical Technologies" have been united under the name "Repair, Reliability and Chemical Technologies", and since 2007 the head of the combined department is Assoc. Dr. Mitko Nikolov.
A collective department was formed, in which the first appointed professor was in the discipline Theory of Mechanisms and Machines" simultaneously with the founding of the University of Rus ein 1954. At the beginning, the department united in one scientific unit the disciplines: Theory of Mechanisms and Machines, Machine Elements, Machine Drawing, Lifting and Transport Machines, Hydraulics and Hydraulic Machines and Labor Protection. Later, six independent departments were formed from the collective department.
The first full-time teacher of the collective department is the honored professor of Ruse University Ivan Nedelchev. He began teaching TMM students with his appointment in 1954.
In the period from 1955 to 1962, the department was headed by Eng. Migno Hadzhiminev. After 1962, Prof. Ivan Nedelchev, PhD is the head of the Department.
From 1978 to 2000 the department was independent and was called "Theory of Mechanisms and Machines". During this period, the heads of the department were successively appointed Prof. Ivan Nedelchev, PhD (1978-1987), Prof. Kiril Enchev, PhD (1987-1995) and Prof. Hristo Marinov, PhD (1995-2000).
In 2000, the Theory of Mechanisms and Machines department was merged with the "Lifting and Transport Technology and Technologies" department. From then until the end of 2012, the head of the combined TMMLTT department was Prof. Ognyan Alipiev, PhD.
Immediately after the establishment of the Department of Repair, Reliability, Mechanisms, Machines, Logistics and Chemical Technologies, Prof. Mitko Nikolov, PhD was elected as its head.
