After the change in the state requirements and the introduction of the master's degree, the motivation of students to engage in research work has increased significantly, as in this way their transition to master's degrees and specializations abroad is stimulated.
The current internal rules for conducting study and research work with motivated students are a step towards including the students' research activity as an element of the curriculum and for the accumulation of educational credits from it.
These rules partly regulate the preparation of students for participation in Olympics in various disciplines. The IIT department conducts the university Olympics and organizes the preparation of students from the University of Ruse for participation in the national student programming Olympics. The progress that has been made in recent years can be noted. It is expressed in increasing the number of participants in the university rounds, as well as improving the results achieved in the national round.
The teaching team of professional direction 4.6 Informatics and computer sciences has experience and ambition to expand its work in this direction - both the inclusion of students in research activities and their participation in programming Olympics.
