The "Automation and Mechatronics" department was established in 2012. It is the successor of the "Automation, Information and Control Technology" department. The department is responsible for training students in the "Computer Management and Automation" major.
The specialty "Computer control and automation" is the successor of the specialty "Automation, information and control technology", created in 1997. It, in turn, is the successor of the specialties "Automatics" (founded in 1994) and "Production Automation" (opened in 1973). Both at the time of opening and throughout the entire period of its existence, the specialty was listed in the Register of specialties and received an annual state order for the admission and training of students. The specialty is accredited to provide training in the educational and qualification degrees "Bachelor" and "Master", as well as in the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" in the scientific specialty "Production Automation".
Currently, the Department consists of 8 full-time teachers, of which 1 professor, 3 associate professors, 3 main assistants and 1 assistant, all of whom are ONS Doctor.
